I assumed I'd be able to figure things out quickly.
When I made the decision to have weight-loss surgery I assumed I'd be able to figure things out quickly.
I always considered myself resourceful and somewhat successful in other areas.
I have a couple of masters degrees. I'm a history teacher. I was a Philly Public League city championship coach...
My point is, most areas of my life felt solid.
So it was a pretty massive gut punch to find that I had a hard time figuring out what my macros should look like or what exercise I should be doing.
I followed trend after trend on social media, never really staying consistent long enough to see if something would work.
I hit my first stall and declared myself a failure.
Why was this the ONE thing I couldn't seem to get a grip on?
Eventually, I made the decision to start working with my first nutrition and strength training coaches and found the consistency and accountability I needed.
I loved the feeling, and the results so much that I studied to become a coach myself and I started working with clients.
One thing I almost immediately noticed...
Most of my clients were like me.
They had a lot of success in other areas of their lives...
Successful careers, busy and thriving family lives, full social calendars...
...but the ONE thing they couldn't seem to figure out was how to manage all of those things while also navigating this bariatric journey that they were on.
And it didn’t matter if it was a newly post-op client or someone who had surgery nearly a decade earlier. The struggle was often the same.
They themselves would identify this little problem area that just nagged the shit out of them and they were determined to fix it.
I actually LOVE working with those types of clients.
They are usually eager to try something new (but not always) and willing to do the work.
In fact, they are already doing a lot of work.
They typically have a solid knowledge of the basics of what they have to do to optimize their bariatric journeys.
It's often a matter of one or two minor tweaks that make all the difference in the world.
One or two lightbulb moments and then everything changes.
The puzzle is completed.
That last little bit of cohesiveness comes together. They see the results they’ve been yearning for, and the success they’ve experienced in other areas of their lives finally transfers over to their bariatric journey.
Most of our clients don’t need an overhaul.
Our wheelhouse is taking individuals who are doing a lot of things well... and helping them fine-tune and optimize so they can finally feel complete.
They can stop stressing about whether they should change things up every few weeks. They can stop wondering what the right approach is for themselves. And they can simply follow a plan that works and helps them build the habits that turn into a lifestyle that is sustainable for a lifetime .
Again, it’s not a 180. It’s being a little more intentional and specific about their approach and making sure they are progressing the way we want them to.
That’s why Busy Bariatrics produces such amazing results on repeat.
We’ve really mastered this process, and we know exactly who is a good fit to get the best results with us.
